This place is a real gem. After a long drive from Venice, we arrived at the Borgo in the late afternoon to be greeted by soft music, hot tea and delicious cookies in the beautiful old church. We were welcomed by Marilisa and shown our spacious room. What a charming place! It's so off the beaten path and after having spent the week prior in Rome, Florence, and Venice, it was the perfect place to be. Set on the side of a hill with a spectacular view of the hills of Umbria, we could not have been more pleased with the location. After unpacking and relaxing, we went downstairs to the dining room where the other guests were mingling around the fireplace (it was cool out, so it felt great!) with drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Riccardo is a wonderful chef; our two dinners at the Borgo, as well as our two breakfasts, were absolutely the best meals we had in all of Italy during our two weeks there. We highly recommend the Borgo to anyone who wants wonderful food, beautiful accommodations, lovely views and surrounding countryside, and friendly and attentive hosts. Also, Umbria has so many cute little towns - it felt like Tuscany used to feel before it was overrun by tourists. Our two nights at the Borgo were the most enjoyable of our entire trip!

My wife and I traveled to Italy this past September. Our travel included Rome, Tuscany and the Umbria region of Italy. Rome and Tuscany was great. However, the highlight of our trip was staying at Borgo Di Carpiano. It was exactly what we hoped. A relaxing and enjoyable break from the "hustle and bustle". The facility is off the beaten path, set in a wonderful location with wonderful views of the country. Great service and great food every evening. You feel as though you have escaped to your own villa with your own private staff to take care of you. We met great people from Italy and the US and upon our return to Italy will return to Borgo Di Carpiano.

Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome in your home we had an amazing time, all your staff are so friendly. As for your food, we loved every meal and i will be busy trying to re-create some of your dishes. We wish you continued success and would love to stay with you again in the future.
